January 24-26.  Friday 10-5 (full price), Saturday 9-3 (25% off), Sunday 10-2 (half off).  

Discounts are for items under $50.  We take bids on items over $50.  

There is no early sign up for this sale, first come, first served.

This is a nice sale in a huge Victorian house.  There are so many items in this sale that we are using every square inch to display them, including the garage, attic and basement.  Most of these items are brand new, many still with tags and in their original boxes.  There are enough gifts to literally open a gift store and enough shoes and clothes to open those stores too!  There are well over 1,000 boxes which we have not all unpacked yet.  

Furniture:  wicker patio set, ratan chair, armoires, sectional sofa, antique hoosier cabinet, other antique cabinets, white bathroom cabinets, beds, bassinets, rockers, tables (some new and some old), storage bench, and more...

Antiques/Vintage: antique stoves, some vintage jewelry, hobnail and fenton, and other antique finds we are still digging through.  

Clothing and accessories:  Ladies: if you wear a size 9-10 shoe or wear 2X-3X clothing, this is the sale for you!  Many are QVC purchases with a lot of brand new items.  Some items may have a little dust but overall everything is clean.  

Household items:  beauty supplies including a nail gel system and many unopened name brand cosmetics, lotions, etc.  towels, brand new sheet sets and linens, pillows, kitchenware, cooking ware and more...

Garage/Lawn and Garden: two push mowers, one new in box, numerous garden decor pieces, new charcoal grill in the box, yard decorations and much more.  The garage contains many boxes and piles that we haven't even dug in yet!

Jewelry: a variety of new and old jewelry, some name brand, some silver.

Collectibles:  If ever you wanted to start a Boyd's Bears collection, now is the time.  Hundreds of peices, Cherished teddies and hundreds of dolls.  Most new in boxes including American Girl, Lee Middleton, Ginny and much more.  

Decorations and Decor:  There are many collections here including cows, roosters, lighthouses and A LOT OF CHRISTMAS.  Candles, fourth of July and other holiday decor and more.

We are still going through everything and promise you this house will be absolutely packed with items.  If you need gifts at good prices, make sure to stop on by!

2.  Auctions

Our first auction of the year was very successful and we are very thankful to everyone who came out and supported it.  We would like to address one thing.  A few people asked if we had someone in the audience artificially bidding and raising prices.  Please note that we will never engage in this practice because we find it to be extremely unethical and is not at all good for growth of the business long term.  EVERY single person at the auction paid for 100% of their purchases and EVERY single person took their purchases home with them.  Everyone approaches auctions differently.  Some are dealers, some collectors and some are there for entertainment.  Everyone has different price points they are willing to pay.  I know this auction was not like our first two auctions and I know that things went for higher prices and things were sold much more quickly.  There were still good deals to be had.  Be assured that anything that would have a reserve on will be stated ahead of time and reserves will be kept to a minimum and will be reasonable.

Join us for our monthly consignment auctions!  You never know what you will find from area estates!  Many times the items dn't arrive until the week of the sale so we have limited opportunity to do a lot of specific pre-advertising.  The February 6 auction will include a variety of antique, vintage, collectible, household, furniture and other items.  A more specific list will be included as items come in.

Future auction dates at this location: Feb 6, Mar 6, Apr 10.  We will more than likely add additional auction dates as we progress. After the April auction, we will determine when and where future auctions will be held.  If you have any ideas, we would love to hear them.  

 TERMS:Cash or charge (checks only from preapproved people) (I.D. Required to Register),  All items to be paid for and removed from the hall the day of sale. All Items Sold AS-IS, all sales Final. Not responsible for accidents or items after sold.  3.  Flea Market

 Feb 8-9: January Indoor Flea Market:  SPOTS ARE FILLING UP FAST!

 Lots of great vendors, junk sale, linen sale and more!  We have over 30 vendors signed up for this venue already and the list continues to grow.  If you are interested in becoming a vendor, you can call the store at 920-257-4673 to sign up.  Spots are $25 for at least a 10 foot by 10 foot spot.

Future Flea market dates are Feb 8-9, Mar 8-9, Apr 12-13

Please keep in mind the store opens at 10:00am on Flea market weekends.

We are considering hosting a year long monthly indoor flea market and junk sale.  However, we do have to find a spot for it.  If you have any ideas, please let us know.

4.  Estate Sale Store

Our estate sale store is located at 621 Westhill Blvd. in Appleton.

We are open Wed-Sat 9-6 and Sun 12-6.

We also typically accept drop offs on Monday

Our store specializes in whole estates.  We are not a traditional consignment store, but we do accept some small consignments as well.  The store is 7,500 feet of which we sell 1/3 to 1/2 of the items per week.  New items are put out and available on Wednesday and on Sunday we have a quarter sale in which items under $10 of a specific color are only a quarter.

5.  Other News and Announcements

-We are currently working on our online auction page.  Soon you will be able to bid on estates right from the comfort of your own home!  There will also be a kiosk at the store where you can check out the auctions and bid as well!  We will have estate online auctions as well as some specialized consignment auctions.  Check www.bumblepuppyauctions.com for an update soon.  Right now there is nothing there!

-Bumble Puppy is hiring.  Bumblepuppy is hiring a FULL TIME POSITION.  Persons applying need to be available to work almost every Friday, Saturday, Monday in addition to two other rotating days.  Most weeks will average 40 hours.  Some weeks will be more (so the applicant needs to be able to work overtime) and others may be less.  The average hours worked per week during a year will be 40.  We are seeking people with a positive attitude that can lift at least 50 pounds, be on their feet all day and have availability during the weekdays and also possibly some weekends.  job responsibilities would include customer service in the store, estate sale set up, store set up, etc.  Strong customer service skills are a must.  Knowledge of antiques and collectibles pricing a bonus, design and decorating skills also desired. The ability to list a minimum of 4 items on ebay per hour also desired.  Computer skills are helpful as we move into additional online sales. If you are looking for an interesting full time job, this may be for you.  Be warned that this is hard work and not all estates are created the same.  This is not a job where you will be sitting.  This is not a job where you will be digging for treasure.  This is not a job where you will be able to stay clean on a daily basis.  This is not a job for the feint of heart or for those who may run in fear of rodents.  Pay $9-$13 an hour depending upon experience.  Apply at the store or send letter of interest and resume to   bumblepuppysales@gmail.com.  At this time BumblePuppy is unable to offer health insurance.  Full time employees receive holiday pay in addition to other benefits.  This position will be added to the team in January or February.

-Watch our website soon for information about bulk clothing and book buyers.  We will have descriptions, prices and availability information about this program.  These lots are good for people who need a lot of clothes (!), resellers, etc...

-Speaking of books and clothes, we are also implementing an Amazon.com program and will begin to purchase new clothing and 2003 or later books starting in May.  Watch for updates on this program as well.

-As always, if you refer an estate to us and we end up doing an onsite sale at the house, you will receive a $100 referral bonus!  We just need to know who referred the customer to us!  Please note that the person who is doing the state needs to mention you specifically so we know to get you your referral bonus.

 -Cleanouts!  Interested in getting a lot of merchandise for a bulk price?  We are looking for people to give us a quote on cleaning out estate sale leftovers from some of our estate sales.  If you are interested in being on our list, please contact us!

-We will soon have an ebay and online sales drop off location.  Please do NOT drop off anything yet.  We will be accepting items on consignment and are working on our paperwork and contracts for this that will detail the costs and conditions.  Please note that we will not accept just anything for consignment.  All consigned items are subject to approval and some may be rejected.

-Bumblepuppy is paying for box tops and beverage flats!  You can earn bumblepuppy credit for bringing in as little as 20 clean box tops.  We'll give you $2 in store credit for every 20 flats you bring in.  Maybe your workplace has these available or you live next to a bar.  They are pretty light so its a fairly easy way to earn yourself some BumblePuppy credit if you have the time.

    This is a great collection of treasure from a large lake home off of highway 45 just south of Oshkosh.  The owners were former toy store owners and world travellers and have quite an interesting collection of items.  We will be updating pictures and the toys list with more specific information.  For now we posted a general list of toys along with pictures prior to set up.  This is one great sale you are not going to want to miss.

    Friday 9-5, Sat 9-4.  Parking may be somewhat limited.  You may want to park on Camelot and walk in, the lake access road in front of the house is skinny, even more so due to the snow.

STORE CHANGES FOR THE NEW YEAR
We have some new things in store for the year as we work to improve and change our business.  Highlights of these changes are below:
1. We have introduced a monthly auction that will help us clear out our warehouse and store more quickly
2. Reintroduction of the purple sticker.  This means that items will be full priced for two weeks, 25% off for one week and half off for one week.
3.  Quarter day changes:  Items Under $10 will be a quarter on quarter day (Sunday).  Items $10-$19.99 will be 75% off and items $20 to $199.00 will be 60% off and items $200 and over will remain half off.
4.  We have eliminated the book section, clothing section and quarter tables.  You will find the clothes, books and quarter table items at our junk sales and auctions.
5.  We have created an ebay, craigslist, bumblepuppy online auction and store office.  We are  accepting consignments for these venues starting in mid January.  Please wait until you see our terms and consitions before bringing in items to consign to this venue.  We expect to be open for consignment in these areas soon.
6.  We've also switched around our booth at the Fox River Antique Mall.  Everything in it is either $5 or $10.  
7.  We've signed on for a booth at Originals Antique Mall in Oshkosh.  Look for our items there starting in mid January

Other news and announcements:

  Join us for our monthly Thursday night consignment auction.  You never know what you'll find at these auctions!  We always offer a variety of goods from Fox Valley are estates.

    This is a great collection of treasure from a large lake home off of highway 45 just south of Oshkosh.  The owners were former toy store owners and world travellers and have quite an interesting collection of items.  We will be updating pictures and the toys list with more specific information.  For now we posted a general list of toys along with pictures prior to set up.  This is one great sale you are not going to want to miss.

    Friday 9-5, Sat 9-4.  Parking may be somewhat limited.  You may want to park on Camelot and walk in, the lake access road in front of the house is skinny, even more so due to the snow.

STORE CHANGES FOR THE NEW YEAR
We have some new things in store for the year as we work to improve and change our business.  Highlights of these changes are below:
1. We have introduced a monthly auction that will help us clear out our warehouse and store more quickly
2. Reintroduction of the purple sticker.  This means that items will be full priced for two weeks, 25% off for one week and half off for one week.
3.  Quarter day changes:  Items Under $10 will be a quarter on quarter day (Sunday).  Items $10-$19.99 will be 75% off and items $20 to $199.00 will be 60% off and items $200 and over will remain half off.
4.  We have eliminated the book section, clothing section and quarter tables.  You will find the clothes, books and quarter table items at our junk sales and auctions.
5.  We have created an ebay, craigslist, bumblepuppy online auction and store office.  We are  accepting consignments for these venues starting in mid January.
6.  We've also switched around our booth at the Fox River Antique Mall.  Everything in it is either $5 or $10.  
7.  We've signed on for a booth at Originals Antique Mall in Oshkosh.  Look for our items there starting in mid January

Other news and announcements:

1. Bumble Puppy is hiring.  Bumblepuppy is hiring a FULL TIME POSITION.  Persons applying need to be available to work almost every Friday, Saturday, Monday in addition to two other rotating days.  Most weeks will average 40 hours.  Some weeks will be more (so the applicant needs to be able to work overtime) and others may be less.  The average hours worked per week during a year will be 40.  We are seeking people with a positive attitude that can lift at least 50 pounds, be on their feet all day and have availability during the weekdays and also possibly some weekends.  job responsibilities would include customer service in the store, estate sale set up, store set up, etc.  Strong customer service skills are a must.  Knowledge of antiques and collectibles pricing a bonus, design and decorating skills also desired. The ability to list a minimum of 4 items on ebay per hour also desired.  Computer skills are helpful as we move into additional online sales. If you are looking for an interesting full time job, this may be for you.  Be warned that this is hard work and not all estates are created the same.  This is not a job where you will be sitting.  This is not a job where you will be digging for treasure.  This is not a job where you will be able to stay clean on a daily basis.  This is not a job for the feint of heart or for those who may run in fear of rodents.  Pay $9-$13 an hour depending upon experience.  Apply at the store or send letter of interest and resume to bumblepuppysales@gmail.com.  At this time BumblePuppy is unable to offer health insurance.  Full time employees receive holiday pay in addition to other benefits.  This position will be added to the team in January or February.
2. We are looking for bulk buyers for clothing and books.  Purchase by the garbage bag for clothes and by the box for books.  These are not smelly/yucky items.  They are in good condition.
3. We could use some boxes and bags.  If you have extra bags and boxes laying around and you can bring them to us, we would appreciate it.
4. As always, if you refer an estate to us and we end up doing an onsite sale at the house, you will receive a $100 referral bonus!  We just need to know who referred the customer to us!
5. Cleanouts!  Interested in getting a lot of merchandise for a bulk price?  We are looking for people to give us a quote on cleaning out estate sale leftovers from some of our estate sales.  If you are interested in being on our list, please contact us!

Bumble Puppy is hiring.  We are looking for on call people which may lead into more hours.  We are seeking people with a positive attitude that can lift at least 50 pounds, be on their feet all day and have availability during the weekdays and also possibly some weekends.  job responsibilities would include customer service in the store, estate sale set up, store set up, etc.  Strong customer service skills are a must.  Knowledge of antiques and collectibles pricing a bonus, design and decorating skills also desired.  If you are looking for an interesting part time job, this may be for you.  Pay $9-$13 an hour depending upon experience.  Apply at the store or send letter of interest and resume to bumblepuppysales@gmail.com
2. We are looking for bulk buyers for clothing and books.  Purchase by the garbage bag for clothes and by the box for books.  These are not smelly/yucky items.  They are in good condition.

4. As always, if you refer an estate to us and we end up doing an onsite sale at the house, you will receive a $100 referral bonus!  We just need to know who referred the customer to us!

Anyone want a FREE player piano? Its in the back of the shop and is available to the first person who physically shows up with a truck to take it away.  No reserving it.  Truck.  People to haul.  Once they arrive at the store, the piano goes to them.  There are no steps involved to get in/out of the store.  We cannot help lift it.

OK... So we realize that our somewhat weekly what is it has been on hiatus for many weeks. This week we're writing about an interesting find that we made.

Sometimes at the end of their sales, other estate sale companies will ask us to purchase sale leftovers. Sometimes we purchase everything, some times a specific collection and other times just a piece or two. We recently purchased a clothing and linen lot from an estate sale in Neenah after it was over. In this case, we left our contact information and requested to purchase the left overs (we paid full price for some of it the first day). We rarely attend other sales because first of all, we usually have a sale going on at the same time and in some cases, other companies don't' like it.

This was one of those that we were just too curious about and we are always suckers for OLD clothes! We actually have an ebay and an etsy store devoted to clothing. Janel's mom, Judie, does all of the listing, ironing, washing and research. As she was preparing some of this clothing and linens for sale, Judie was able to find out quite a bit about it.

In case you are interested in some local Neenah/Fox Cities history, I am posting those findings here...

Research completed by Judie Bedor regarding the clothing lot purchased on Park Ave in Neenah from the Rhoades house:

Most of the clothing in the lot was Edwardian. Mrs. Rhoades was a seamstress, milliner. She owned her own business since the 20s. As far as I could research she was extremely successful - even having material with her Millinery shop stamped on lining in her shirtwaists, etc. There is a Reverend Rhoades still living in area and there is a Rhoades foundation that gives scholarships, there were other Rhoades businesses.

Mrs. Rhoades merged with two other clothiers in sometime before 1934: Haase and Klinke. She even had items in her collection from W. O Thiede Clothiers from Appleton that were in business in the 30s. She must have been really good at what she did and came from a wealthy family. We have a very heavy "bear" coat (with a lot of issues) was made for the merged store - Haase Klinke Rhoades probably in the 30s - judging from the jewelry style closures and the condition/how made.

1. We are looking for bulk buyers for clothing and books.  Purchase by the garbage bag for clothes and by the box for books.  These are not smelly/yucky items.  They are in good condition.
2. We could use some boxes and bags.  If you have extra bags and boxes laying around and you can bring them to us, we would appreciate it.

NEW STORE ITEMS:  Week of 11/13

We put out an estate from Green Bay this week.  The items were found in a house that has been abandoned for years.  Its another interesting mix including old photo albums, tools, artwork and pictures and more.  There were a few nice antique pieces of furniture included as well.  Our new comics are still out adn are on sale.  

We have a new vendor in the store in our end booth who is busy bringing in her wares.

We're working on getting some new jewelry priced and out as well. Store hours are Wed-Sat 9-6 and Sunday 12-6.  621 Westhill Blvd, next to Stevie B's.

Please note that the store will be open on Sunday at 10:00 instead of noon.  That's right!  Those quarter deals are ready to go two hours early!

Please note...The store will be opening early on Sunday at 10:00 to coincide with the flea market.

Our first flea market of the year kicks off this weekend and its a full one.  While our junk sale will be small, we have a huge number of vendors coming in to show off their wares.  In fact we have the most vendors that we have ever had coming in this weekend.  There are a wide range of specialty goods including antiques, collectibles, new in box items, junk, jewelry, gifts and more... 20,000 square feet of treasure!

We'll have a flea market each month through April!  Admission is free and its located at 613 Westhill Blvd, Appleton, WI (right next to our BumblePuppy Store).  Sat 9-4, Sun 10-3.  Its the spot that Halloween Express uses so there is a Halloween Express sign above the door!

There are only a few vendor spots available at this time.  They are $25 each with a $25 returnable deposit!

NEW STORE ITEMS:  Week of 11/6

This week we have a variety of estates that were put out.  There are some tools, wicker furniture, antique pine cabinet, Christmas decor and much more!  A collection of Longberger baskets came in last week as well. We still have the McIntosh Amp and PreAmp in their boxes!  Additionally, there is a Tandberg Receiver in its packaging as well.  

There are many old tools, some Roseville pottery and a variety of other cool old things found in the basement.  We also put out some entire new boxes of comics.  We recently picked up 25,000 new comics!  That's a lot!!!  As usual we have a nice selection of furniture and other household items.  We hope you stop by to see us.  This week GREEN is full price, Orange is twenty five percent off and Pink is half off.  Currently purple is out of rotation as we are on a three week rotation at least through the holidays.

Next week's highlights include another dusty pod full of stuff from a very old house in Green Bay.  We have many attic treasures arriving that we think you'll be interested in seeing.
